Assalamualaikum, Internet travellers! It has been a while since I've been here although I've been meaning to write in here for a long, long time. Hold up, how come I always start every blog entry I post like this? There's no other reason other than I have not pushed myself to be consistent enough in my writing. This shall not repeat itself! However, I got to tell you though I may not update this blog as frequent as I want if there are no fun activities going around. I mean, nobody wants to read about how I've been trying to catch up on my reading the newspapers all day and unsuccessfully draw my 2nd self-portrait last night, do they? I swear, when I was finished with my sketch, I almost scared myself because of what I drew and it was around 2AM in the morning. I don't want to post it in here because it might just hurt my pride and whatever dignity I may have over my new uncovered hobby.
Anyway, in today's blog entry, I would like to talk about two or three things that I miss in University. I know, I know, what's so fun about university life especially for newbies like me who has only been studying for two semesters? That, dear readers, is a very short time indeed. Truthfully, I haven't the faintest idea why I'm still so attached to that old place but I guess I get sentimental at times, particularly when it comes to places and people I'm strongly attached to. UiTM Kuantan is like a second home to me.
1) The Library
Okay, get this straightened out, their library in this secluded campus is pretty much like any other libraries you see out there. The only thing that's different about this particular library is that it is tiny and I mean real tiny, as in the size of two average classrooms joined together kind of small. You're with me so far? Great. Anyway, while most people might not be so excited to the prospect of a minuscule-sized library, I thought differently. Well, we are talking about me and so, basically everything I like is totally the opposite of everyone else's. I have always dreamed of living close to the a room of full of books and that first semester, I found myself living right above one. Whether it's tiny or gigantic, I didn't mind either one. As long as it is a library, I was pretty content about it. From that day onward, I spent huge amount of my time doing assignments or reading anything interesting in the library. I literally lived in the library that semester and it wasn't hard for my friends to find me there too. The only problem I had was the temperature of the room. It's the same level of FREEZING as my mum's current office. I have a really sensitive nose which reacts to everything and anything, but mostly to extreme cold temperature. Let's just say, I sniffed just as much as I breathe in. Hahaha..
2) Teluk Cempedak
It's not one of my most favourite beaches but it is very pleasant all the same. I usually hang out there with a couple of friends whenever we're free or just need a breather from our never-ending stack of assignments cramped on our tables. It wasn't just the food that lulled as there, rather, the very simple act of sitting on the soft, warm sand and watching the waves were enough. I advise you go there at night when the air is really cool and there'll be all kind of vendors selling bracelets, food and ice-cream! Again, when there are good things, bad stuff are never too far behind. There is a small, secluded bridge that connects from the main entrance of the beach to the other side where the beach is a lot more private and less crowded. The "problem" appears during the day and they take in form of monkeys. Pffttt.... What does a bunch of tiny monkeys could possibly do? Well, I tell you. In the morning, a huge family of monkeys will wait by the bridge, waiting for their first victims of the day. When I said "huge family", I meant they range from, the grandpa, grandma, aunts and uncles, the cousins and kids. Basically, the whole family is there. If they sense you brought food with you, then you're a goner. So far, I have never had my stuff taken from me because I always keep them in my bag but even so, they could just take my bag too if I don't watch out. Still, Teluk Cempedak is a really good place to hang out with friends during the weekends. I highly recommends any future students to go there someday.
